Prepare a captioned release

Fix a consistent subtitle offset and review the result in your player. Keep your source files and work on copies.

Measure the offset

Compare a spoken word with its subtitle near the start, middle and end. A constant gap needs a shift; a growing gap needs a different fix.

Paste or upload the SRT, enter the offset in seconds, inspect the preview, and download a new file.

Load the exported SRT beside the original video and check the same three moments. Keep a copy of both files for future edits.

The final check

Open each downloaded file in the app or destination that will use it. A successful export does not replace checking the actual result.
